Yes, we collect the all the dealer’s information, and our team validates the dealer’s credentials. Once the validation is completed, dealers can then showcase their cars. Moreover, we highly recommend meeting the dealer in person, thoroughly inspecting the car you are buying, and then making a final decision. We don't take any responsibility for any after-purchase issues.
It depends on your priorities. Used cars have no mileage limitations and are maintained by the owner. Used cars can vary in age. With lease takeovers, you get a car that is usually still under warranty, as they are relatively new. Most of the times maintenance is usually included in the lease cost, however the mileage is limited. You also have the option to purchase the car after the lease is over. This gives you the chance to try the car before having to commit to the full cost of the car purchase.
Lease takeovers
A lease takeover car is a used car available for purchase through a lease agreement. The vehicle is typically returned to the dealership at the end of the lease period, and you have the option to purchase it once the lease is over.
Lease takeover cars can be a great way to get a good deal on a used car. You can often find cars that are only a few years old and have very low mileage. Just be sure to read all the terms and conditions of the lease agreement before you commit to the lease. Also ensure that the remaining mileage is enough for your driving habits and needs or you will have to pay an additional cost for every additional KM driven.
Yes, car leases can be transferred to other people, but it's up to the leasing company or lessor to decide whether they will allow it or not. Usually, there is a fee associated with transferring a lease, so it's essential to ask about this before signing any paperwork.
Most car dealers allow lease transfers; however, there is usually a credit check to ensure you can keep up with the payments and they may require a fee for the lease transfer.
The steps for doing a car lease takeover are as follows:
- • Look for cars that are available for lease takeover. You can do this by browsing CarHawk to contact sellers directly.
- • Compare the terms of the original lease agreement with the takeover offer. Ensure that you are getting a good deal and that all the terms and conditions are favorable.
- • Negotiate a deal with the person looking to get out of their lease. This usually involves agreeing to take over their remaining payments, any applicable fees and accumulated mileage throughout the lease agreement.
- • Get in contact with the leasing company to get your credit validated
- • Sign the paperwork and take possession of your car.
Used Car
Before buying a used car, you should know the following things to avoid any inconvenience:
- • Vehicle History Report: Ensure the car has a clean history report, free of accidents and repairs through CARFAX.
- • Mechanical Condition: Have a certified mechanic inspect the engine, brakes, tires, and other vital components to ensure they are in good condition.
- • Interior/Exterior Condition: Look for any damage or signs of wear and tear on the car's body and interior.
- • Documentation: Ensure all paperwork is in order and up to date, including the title, registration, VIN, and any other provincial requirements.
Some dealers do accept car returns; however, you will have to validate their terms and conditions. We recommend checking your vehicle before completing your purchase. CarHawk will not be responsible for any disputes.
The average car drives 25,000 KM per year. Divide the mileage by the age of the car to get the average miles driven on the car per year. If it is above 25,000 KMs then it is above average miles. If it is less than 25,000 KMs then it is below average miles. While mileage can be used as one measure of the car’s condition, car maintenance and driving habits are also important factors to consider. We highly recommend taking the car to a licensed car mechanic for a full inspection.
